Position Description:

As a web designer intern, you will be entrusted with all aspects of a timely delivery of a successful website to the client by managing design, development and deployment of Website projects from beginning until the end.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting clients and/or supervisor to discuss the objectives and requirements of the job
  • Interpreting the client’s business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
  • Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research
  • Writing and editing content for websites and marketing material
  • Performing theme and plugin updates
  • Solve code problems and incompatibilities (html, css, php)
  • Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Working with a wide range of media and software
  • Working on layouts and tweaking web design elements
  • Optimizing websites for Speed and Security
  • Working as part of a team with graphic designers, copywriters, account executives, and marketing specialists

Requirements

  • Must have a current portfolio of at least 3 websites
  • Must have completed at least 1 web design related course
  • Proficient with HTML and CSS
  • Proficient with WordPress
  • Proficient with Photoshop
  • Must be able to intern a minimum of 15 hrs/week (min. 5 hrs/day)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Abode Suite
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Social Media Mgt.
  • Basic understanding of SEO
  • Basic understanding of Video Editing
  • Strong verbal and written skills
